The article presents the results of laser alloying process ductile cast iron EN-GJS 350-22 surface with titanium. was conducted on 2 kW high power diode (HPDDL) Rofin Sinar DL02 rectangular focus and uniform density distribution in axis. constant beam processing speed titanium powder feed rate variation. tests produced layers included macrostructure microstructure observations, X-ray diffraction (XRD) energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis, Vickers hardness, solid particle erosion according to ASTM G76-04 standard. To assess mechanism, SEM observations worn surfaces after erosive test were carried out. As a result surface, situ metal-matrix composite structure formed TiC reinforcing particles. change resulted increase hardness resistance comparison base material.
